In addition to professional events, Delta Sigma Pi recognizes the importance of giving back to the community, and seeks to instill the same sense of duty in each of its members. Along with a longstanding participation in American Cancer Society's annual "Relay for Life," members of the Alpha chapter have also worked with charitable organizations such as food charity "Two Birds One Stone," NYC's Made a Difference Day, New York Cares, American Red Cross, and most recently, with the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Mission, whose mission is to help survivors in the Sichuan Province of China in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in 2008.

For further questions or to express interest regarding a potential partnership for future events, please contact our VP Community Service, Robert Lee at robert.lee.918@gmail.com.

Relay for Life

Since being re-chartered, the Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi has participated in American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" every year in the spring, the event that represents the culmination of weeks of fundraising for cancer research. "Relay for Life" consists of a night-long tribute to cancer survivors, inspirational speeches championing the fight against cancer, and memorials in honor of those who have passed away. Not only do brothers bond during this event, but they also spend the night building teamwork and integrity by raising money for a common cause.

New York Cares

The Alpha Chapter brothers have become very fond of their annual fall tradition of participating in New York Cares Day. Run by New York Cares, an organization that coordinates thousands of community service projects around New York City, New York Cares Day directs one mid-October weekend every year to brightening up the city's schools. Last year, twelve brothers spent Saturday, October 17 repairing and painting an elementary school in Brooklyn.
